MADNESS Update & Meet Marie!

2ND CHANCE BRACKET CHALLENGE, Meet one of our wicked awesome teens, random drawing winners and check out who is leading!

What a weekend!

Before we get too far in the updates, prizes and all the other good stuff, we need to say something important.

THANK YOU! This was the most money ever raised through MADNESS on a MISSION! Together, 74 individuals combined for $6,457! Your donation will immediately fund spots for teens in our Teen Work Experience programs in Portland and Lewiston, guiding these future community leaders toward a lifetime of employment and discovering how God has designed them for good work.

Your gift is an investment in some wicked awesome teens - like Marie!

Marie is in 10th grade at Lewiston High School and along with working at Common Grounds Café on Saturdays (9-11am if you are in the area), she is a junior mentor for The Root Cellar’s after-school mentoring program. She’s also currently taking an Excel class, cooking class and powered for life! All of which are electives in The Lew Crew, our Teen Work Experience program in our Lewiston site.

We asked Marie to describe herself in three words. She responded confidently, “I am reliable,” (we would agree). For fun, Marie enjoys watching movies with her friends. She likes working at The Root Cellar because she enjoys working with kids. When she grows up, she wants to be a pediatrician or do something with kids! Her favorite item on the Common Grounds Menu is the Latte.

2nd Chance Bracket Challenge Group!

If you missed out on joining the madness, don’t worry - we’ve got you!

If your bracket is like mine, you are busted, and you may want another chance to give or win a few prizes.

So here’s a 2nd chance to compete some prizes and continue to support teens line Marie! We have 3 ways that you can join.

  1. Make a donation and help us reach out $7500 goal!

  2. If you have already given, would you consider becoming a Monthly Partner? There is an ever growing community that gives each month, allowing us to plan effectively and use these much needed resources to invest in our work in Portland and Lewiston, cultivating communities that love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. Your monthly gift is essential to this work, and we would be honored to partner with you!

  3. Join for free! Maybe you are just a glutton for punishment or want another chance at beating my bracket (won’t be difficult)! Click here to join this group for free!

2nd Chance Brackets are live now for the Sweet 16 and will be open until tip-off at 7pm on Thursday, March 24th.

MADNESS on a MISSION 2022 Leaderboard

Like I said, I’m busted. I still have 3 of my final 4 left, but man, what a rough weekend. I was pretty sure my TarHeels were going to blow it against Baylor, which would have really finished my bracket off, but they survived, and I’m sure I have a few more gray hairs now.

Let’s check in on our MADNESS on a MISSION 2022 leaderboard!

The leaders changed hands several times over the weekend, but it was Tim Rogers alone up top! He’s looking strong at 450 points!

It’s tight competition right now, with a 5 way tie for 2nd place, including Monika Nolt! She has 10 points more than her husband, Zach Nolt. We are are all cheering for you, Monika!
