Super Summer is here!

Here we go!

Starting this week, we are entering our 5th Super Summer in Lewiston! Over the next 7 weeks, over 70 kids will join us each day for an exciting day camp filled with community art activities, character building actives, and some really fun group learning activities like dance, sewing science basketball and so much more!

Check out this video for a little taste of what we are going to be up to this summer - make sure to turn the volume up!

YOU are helping to provide 15 Summer jobs for NEIGHBORHOOD teens!

We are adding to our staff this summer, with 4 interns (can’t wait for your to meet them) and 15 neighborhood teen positions! This is the 4th summer that our teens will be working with our Super Summer Day Camp as Teen Squad Leaders. These positions are integral to the success of Super Summer, and we really hopeful for this years crew of teens!

We can’t do any of this without you!

Alyssa Morgosh, who leads our Teen Squad Leaders will meet with them two times each week for Powered for Life Teen Leadership Training.

The Shop

We have 4 teens working at The Shop, learning woodworking and basic construction skills and are already working on projects to bring some life to the porches and decks of our neighborhood - more to come on that!

New this year - we are offering a neighborhood lawn-care small business experience! Our teens have chosen the name, Lew Crew and will be doing lawn care for properties in and around the Tree Streets Neighborhood.

These exciting projects and the teen positions are part of a larger effort in the Tree Streets Neighborhood. We have been part of the Healthy Neighborhoods Network for the past 3 years and are so excited about all of the work going on in the community! Check them out at www.GrowingOurTreeStreets.com!

More to come on all of these projects - to follow along on this journey each day, follow us @rootcellar_lew on Instagram!

Pray for our community through the summer!

There are so many moving parts to our summer programing - so many new faces, so many more kids, and so much good work. It’s easy to let the drama and the little pettiness get in the way. Pray that we will be unified around the work that has been given to us, and that we will give grace to one another.

Pray for peace in our neighborhood through the warm months. Pray that we will be peacemakers in our community, good neighbors to all and a good partner to other organizations that are doing good work.

Pray for strength and good health for our staff. Our team takes on a lot in the summer - with joy and hope. Pray that we will sustain this through each week, seeking the the Kingdom first in our lives and in the lives of our neighbors.

We are celebrating our 35th anniversary!

Our Monthly Partners have always had a HUGE impact on our ministry.

Just $35 per month

can make all the difference

for the future of our neighborhood.
