Mustafa’s story reminds us that life isn’t a solitary endeavor. For as much as his journey is a tale of mental fortitude in the face of extreme adversity, it’s also about the importance of community—teachers, counselors, parents, and friends— in facing life’s most difficult challenges.
"The Root Cellar," his mom added, "has been a family to us. We feel we are loved here and we have a place to find help, to give help, to be a part of everything."
Our teens helped survey the community, spread the new soil in the fall and then again on our Garden Opening and Soil Moving Party. Additionally, our 2nd Street Access Trash Can was installed on the corner, complete with a Dog Poo
